Borthwick  is a historic Castle approximately 20 minutes drive from Edinburgh.  This ancient stronghold housed many of the great events of Scotland’s history and notably the safe keeping of Mary Queen of Scots.

If a Castle could speak this would have a remarkable story to tell of drama and pathos.  But although it cannot talk - it can and does through that indefinable thing called “atmosphere”, as people young and old from all around the world have experienced. You can stand on the very ground and pass through the same postern gate that past royalties have, and you can eat in the same Great Hall where they have dined and danced.

It is probably one of the most original Castles internally - it still has the old winding stone staircases from floor level to the top of the Castle.  All the bedchambers are very tastefully decorated and while making it comfortable they have still retained the character and charm of a Castle.

To include the Following:

Monday – Thursday for 10 persons
Ceremony,  Reception Drinks and Dinner

• Full Wedding co-ordination service prior, up to and including the wedding day
• Facility for the wedding ceremony to take place within the Garrison followed by reception drinks in the State room and dinner in the Great Hall
• A Celebrant
• Chair covers for the ceremony
• Canapés – 3 per guest
• Drinks package – 1 Glass sparkling wine for the reception, 2 glasses of house wine with dinner
• Three course set menu for 10 guests
• White linen and napkins for dinner
• Candelabras and T lights on the dining tables
• Photographer to be in attendance at the venue for up to 3 hours – to provide 50 High Resolution photographs, edited and colour corrected, photography to be complete before sitting for dinner
• A Single tier sponge wedding cake elegantly decorated with flowers to tone with the bridal theme
• A Seasonal Hand tied bridal bouquet and Buttonhole for the Groom
• A Traditional Piper in full regalia – from arrivals and up to piping into dinner

All Packages are upgradeable
Accommodation is available at the castle.
