The experience of getting married in one of these Scottish Castles, of walking down the isle in the footsteps of Kings and Queens is second to none as you become part of history. Imagine the banquets, stately dinners and balls that have taken place in the great halls of these Scottish Castles. In olden times this was where Dukes, Earls, Lords and Lairds of the land entertained Royalty and the aristocrats, it's where our kings and Queens were born and raised and where today some of our nobility, aristocrats and many of our leading families in the country still reside.

Whilst maintaining their original character and charm, many of these castles have upgraded their rooms in keeping with all the comforts of modern day living.

Alternatively, you may like the rustic look and feel of a historic uninhabited Scottish castle which has been restored to its original state and available for Scottish weddings such as Edinburgh Castle or Stirling Castle, or the historic properties in the care of the National Trust for Scotland who have castles which are both furnished or unfurnished and a few have letting accommodation.

Finally you have the option of a Castle hotel, of which there are not very many. They are run as a hotel whereby you may take over the function suites dependent on your size of wedding party, but the castle and grounds would not be exclusive to yourselves – they would still be available to the public for overnight accommodation and dining. The Scottish people are very respectful of a wedding party and in a public place will always stand back to admire.
