Wedding of Emma & Neil
Neil and Emma travelled from the other side of the world to have their wedding in Scotland – Emma originates from Scotland and Neil from England, and both now live and work in Australia!
We had an amazing year putting their wedding together with them – Emma was a perfect bride throughout – she was charming and caring both through her writings and also in person, we loved working with her.
They had chosen beautiful Murthly castle in Perthshire for their special day – their whole perspective of their wedding was to have a really fun day, nothing pompous or over the top, an elegant day with their families and all their chums from around the world, to celebrate this very special occasion.
The weather certainly by comparison was not what they were used to, nonetheless it did fair up towards the end of the afternoon to enable guests to have drinks and canapés on the lawns.
Murthly is a spectacular setting with beautifully manicured and tended lawns and gardens so I am glad to say they did manage to make full use of such a picturesque setting for their wedding photos.
A Beautiful wedding breakfast was served in the marquee where everyone enjoyed a meal of delicious traditional Scottish fayre. Good Food, good wine, good company, nothing more did they want. They were now ready to dance the night away. A surprise half way through the evening was planned not only for the guests but also for the Groom – we had secretly organised a fireworks display – all instigated by his new wife Emma, which went down a treat – an amazing backdrop for fireworks, lined with enormous lime trees so you can only imagine the echoes from the fireworks.
A Lovely bride and groom and lovely guests – what a real honour and treat for us to be asked to do their wedding, thank you both!
Bride and Groom's kind comment: "Enormous thanks to George and Kimmie of Litu for enabling us to the have the most beautiful and relaxed wedding, more than either of us could have wished for!
Having moved to Sydney, Australia and trying to organise a wedding in my home of Perthshire, Scotland, it seemed like an over whelming task until we first spoke with George and Kimmie. From that first conversation we were put completely at ease and knew we were in the best possible hands. They guided us through each and every stage of the process so there was no need for stress or worry at any point. I will always remember how excited I felt after the first meeting I had with George and Kimmie at our venue, Murthly Castle, as I had arrived from Sydney loaded with ideas & folders of wedding magazine cut outs but absolutely no idea of how to pull it all together. Litu had organised for us for to have individual meetings with the florist, photographers, caterer, marquee hire company and venue host on that day and by the time I left I knew we were going to have the most amazing wedding and that George and Kimmie would be close to hearts for many years to come.
Returning to Sydney we continued our planning with regular emails flying back and forth from George & Kimmie keeping us on track, providing us with ideas & inspiration and ensuring every question we had was answered efficiently. George & Kimmie also went the extra mile to help us and assisted our guests travelling from overseas suggesting accommodation, co-ordinating between the Mums attending our wedding over baby sitting requirements and co-ordinating our RSVP’s and dietary requirements.
The week before our wedding we had a meeting with George and Kimmie at my home – Litu were amazing in the fact that they not only made sure Neil and I had no concerns but also our family and bridal party. At the meeting we went through a thorough itinerary for our wedding day and discussed every detail, they had ensured our day would run smoothly and be unforgettable.
On the day of our wedding sadly in true Scottish form it was raining! When I arrived at Murthly Castle to get ready, George and Kimmie had tied a white ribbon on their car so I could be driven down to the chapel rather than walk as we had planned. George and Kimmie had planned for every eventuality!
Every supplier Litu recommended to us proved to be thoroughly professional and absolutely lovely. Our guests have all commented on how fantastic our wedding day was and how none of them have ever danced so much – our ceilidh band, Rerr Terr, and our DJ were superb! Thank you also for helping me organise a surprise firework display for the groom and our guests, keeping it a secret right up to the actual display managing to get everyone out of the marquee under a plan hatched by George and Kimmie.
Without Litu I’m sure I wouldn’t slept for the weeks before our wedding and cried all the way up the aisle but Kimmie was by my side the whole time and I had no need to stress or worry. Litu really do stand up to their name – Leave It To Us – we have no idea how they managed to pull everything together and we can only thank them so much for making our wedding day truly the most amazing day of our lives! Thanks again, Emma & Neil x"
