Jennifer and John getting married in Scotland - Litu

Jennifer and John hailed from Newark, USA and travelled with their family and friends to Scotland in celebration of their wedding – what a fun party they were and really up for doing as much as they could when in Scotland – visiting various places, taking trips, and generally soaking up the whole Scottish experience. Its so important when doing a destination wedding to encompass other aspects around the wedding, especially for guests who may never have travelled to Scotland before and I am sure who want to see as much of our culture as possible. We spent time with John and Jennifer before their big day to get to know them a little better and to settle any nerves they had! Actually they were both pretty calm and collected even on the wedding day, which was great to see.

Jennifer getting married in Scotland They married in a religious wedding at the castle and had little Ted the owl deliver their wedding rings – its such a unique way to have your wedding bands brought to the alter, and gives the Bride and Groom a fantastic photographic opportunity – its not everyone who can say an owl (known as a “Hoolet” in Scotland) delivered their wedding rings!

After the ceremony we had a great time in the castle grounds taking lots of fun shots – the weather was kind and everyone joined in before going inside the castle for drinks.

Dinner was held in the romantic, dungeon restaurant, in a small private area where everyone could chatter and have fun without feeling they were disturbing other diners.

John and Jennifer’s feedback on their wedding as you can read below was music to our ears – our goal is to help make this the best day in any couple’s lives and if we can accomplish that then we are doing our job correctly.

I was so excited to start the planning process, but was quickly overwhelmed at how difficult it is to plan an event in a foreign country. Choosing the right vendors, venue, the legal requirements…. I didn’t know where to start.That’s when Kimmie and George stepped in and saved the day!

From the moment I started working with Kimmie, I never worried about a thing. She is so confident and knowledgeable and was there for me through every decision, no matter how small. Best of all, she really listens to your ideas. She truly wants your wedding day to be everything that you dreamed it would be.

Our wedding day exceeded our expectations in every way. All of Litu’s vendors were of the highest quality and a perfect fit for our needs. Dalhousie Castle is a stunning and unique venue. Our guests are still raving about the castle, the bagpiper, and especially about Ted, the owl who delivered our rings. Our minister, Norman, was so kind and delivered a beautiful ceremony that was both serious and light hearted, just as we had hoped. Our photographer, Peter, captured each moment of our fairy tale and delivered beautiful photos we will cherish forever.

We can’t look back on our wedding day and not remember the important role that Kimmie and George played. They were there to quickly resolve any issue, not only for us, but for our friends and family as well. Whether it was to calm nervous family members, find hair pins for my veil, or provide extra umbrellas for our guests, they were right there every step of the way. They were so much a part of our wedding day that we now consider them to be a part of our family! Thank you, Kimmie and George for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. It really was a dream come true."
