Wedding of Debbie and John
It’s strange how situations turn around – Debbie had contacted us several months prior to booking our services – she had visited a number of venues and finally settled on Dundas Castle as the dream venue for her special day with John. It was at that point that Debbie came back to us. Living in the south, they both felt they required a hand held service with guidance throughout the planning of their special day. We very quickly picked up where we left off – set up a meeting when they were next up in Scotland to visit Debbie’s family, and the rest is history as they say! Debbie was a role model bride, both in the planning and also on the day – she never panicked or got over stressed, and she was pretty chilled throughout the whole process – I did worry that the jitters would creep in on the wedding day, but amazingly both still remained calm - we absolutely loved working with you both!!
The day began with a gorgeous covering of snow, how romantic was that! All the girls had hair and make-up appointments at the castle and there was that real buzz of excitement throughout which you get on a wedding day – guests chatting, children chasing and having fun in and out and all around the castle, so much to explore, everyone was in for a truly memorable day. The boys all looked extremely smart in their kilts as did the Groom in his brand new outfit.
Debbie’s colour theme pretty much centred around her amazing D&G tiara, with a replication broach on her gown at her waist – Her gown was a rich Champagne with a matching bolero jacket, she really was, as you can see in the photos, totally stunning. A little fur jacket over the top was perfect for the weather and for those all important shots outside! After a memorable service, with some beautiful pieces played by the harp and flute, all the guests moved back to the castle and the bridal party had photos, as you can see they had loads of fun ably directed and photographed by Tony Marsh www.tonymarshphotography.com
In the dining room we continued the colour theme – flowers in Ivories with soft ambers and greens with linens in gold and champagne to compliment, so rich, classic and extremely elegant.. The children were entertained by a clown, albeit I think some of the parents loved him too! Good company, good food, good wine, what a preamble to a great evening. The ceilidh band lead the way after dinner – for those who had never done ceilidh dancing they all joined into the spirit of it aided by the Scottish relatives who certainly knew their way around the floor!
At 11.45pm the groom made an announcement to their guests for everyone to come to the front door – normally a signal, most think, for a finale of fireworks. However as everyone assembled on the front steps of the castle, guests were flabbergasted to hear the sound of pipes and drums and through the haze of dry ice emerged a full pipe band who entertained their guests for 15 minutes with laments and popular tunes – its such an amazing sight to see, it brings thrills of excitement to any gathered crowd – what a lasting memory for John and Debbie, what a memorable day for their guests, if they loved it half as much as we did working with you both, it will live forever in their memories.
Bride and Groom's kind comments; "Firstly we would like to thank Kimmie and George for such an excellent service, exceptional organisation, top quality suppliers and for being enormously comforting throughout the whole planning process.
It was a special experience to have such a kind and warm couple plan our wedding.
Kimmie and George were able to recommend an endless amount of options and ideas, more than we thought possible.
We regularly stay at 5 star hotels all over the world because of Johns business, and because of this, our standards are were high and Litu met every expectation and more. Litu kept us calm and fully confident that the day would run to plan. From the beginning of our planning process right up to and during our wedding day.
Our day was truly a dream wedding, attention to detail by the recommended suppliers was excellent and our guests are still commenting how it was such a beautiful and orgainsed day.
What ever you are looking for in your wedding, we are confident that Kimmie and George will deliver this.
Kind Regards
Debbie and John
